One of the most common issues encountered by Fire Service Inspecting Officers is OVER PROVISION of fire safety equipment, the cost of which can be very substantial. Take something as simple as fire extinguishers for example. Every fire extinguisher you are provided with in excess of what you actually require is not only an additional initial expenditure but also an ongoing one. All extinguishers provided must be tested and maintained in accordance with the relevant British Standard.
